Editor – Campaign Events Impact (CEI)
The editor of Campaign Events Impact (CEI) is essential to the development and ongoing production of content, whether it will be digital, face-to-face events or in print.

This role will be expected to take or develop a strategic role in the progression of CEI’s associate editor, as well as Campaign’s head of content, online editor, and the brand editor.

As a senior member of the editorial team, the editor should get a good example in terms of motivation, work ethic, insistence on quality editorial standards and in representing the title to the industry.

Based in Singapore, this role will be responsible for covering the Southern Asia-Pacific markets plus the market in Australia. Also, the editor will be responsible for generating ideas and content for those latter markets – whether it is for print, digital or live events.

Reporting into the brand director and head of content, the editor will be responsible for overseeing and delivering CEI’s newly launched print title with help on its execution from the associate editor.

In addition, the editor will be working closely and in partnership with CEI’s associate editor, monitoring website, social media and newsletter content so that each can support and contribute to print and digital contents.

It’s vital that the editor develop a close relationship with the Campaign team so that views and ideas are shared on the development of the title and content. He/ She will be attending internal and external commercial meetings as necessary representing the CEI in the events industry.

• Work with the head of content and brand director on the development of CEI’s content strategy and its fine-tuning
• Initiate, lead and implement new content ideas in line with the new editorial direction
• Develop strong relationships with Campaign team in editorial, including the online editor and other journalists
• Prepare contingencies in absence of other team members to ensure the ongoing smooth running of the title
• Manage and deliver quarterly and six-month travel plan for CEI to brand director for approval
• Manage CEI’s editorial budget working closely with CEI’s associate editor, and reporting into head of content
• Liaise with sales and Content Lab on commercial projects
• Liaise with sales and events on live activities such as forums and awards
• Be prepared to take new projects on at the discretion of the board director or head of content

Editorial coverage
• Lead coverage of Southern Asia and Australia New Zealand territories for CEI
• Generate news and feature ideas by cultivating contacts and visiting markets in the travel plan, especially in Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia
• Generate ideas to keep digital and print contents fresh and evolving
• Represent the CEI editorial voice at publishing meetings
• Lead editorial print coverage, ensuring timely delivery of CEI’s bi-monthly magazine with execution help from the associate editor
• Make editorial decisions and publish newsletters and website content in the absence of CEI’s associate editor
• Develop video content independently, with on-job training from Campaign’s video journalist when possible
• Liaise with CEI’s associate editor on coverage to ensure no unnecessary overlap
• Liaise with sales and Content Lab on commercial projects
• Liaise with sales and events on live activities such as forums and awards

Day to Day
• Forward planning, active participation in Campaign’s morning editorial meetings
• Write articles, opinions and generate content for the website and magazine
• Work with freelance writers to commission copy as necessary for print (or digital in absence of the associate editor)
• Network and build an extensive list of event marketing industry contacts as sources for the new editorial direction of CEI
• Organise and manage digital content in absence of the associate editor, as necessary
• Monitor editorial dashboards with weekly reporting to head of content and brand director on content direction and performance
• Working with CEI’s associate editor, using social media to drive traffic to CEI’s websites

• Good oral communication skills
• All-round journalistic skills, including writing, editing and proof-reading
• Fluency in Mandarin an advantage
• Ability and willingness to take responsibility
• Knowledge and experience in content marketing, digital publishing and social media
• Experience in use of social media to share content
• Good understanding of Google Analytics
• Good creative and conceptual skills
• Experienced in InDesign and CMS
• Experience working to deadlines and under pressure
• Collaborative nature to work as part of the entire team toward common goals, sharing sources and ideas and workload
• Willingness to travel
• Knowledge of, or previous experience, in marketing/business events/MICE industry a plus
