FourFourTwo's football stats app has made it to the Sunday Times’ list of top 500 smartphone and tablet apps.

Stats Zone, one of only 13 sports apps inthe list, was hand-picked by Sunday Times writers and experts as one of thebest mobile apps in the world.

The app was developed for FourFourTwo to deliver real-time football stats from Opta to iPhones for every PremierLeague and Champions League game.

The stats cover passing, shots, tackles, fouls, clearances, blocks, assists, player influence and much more. Users cancompare an individual player’s performance across differentgames/seasons/competitions, players against players, teams against teams andeven an individual against a team.

One of the key features of the app is theshare functionality which allows users to share any analysis via Twitter,Facebook or email. Friends and followers then receive a short url and clickthrough to view the analysis on FourFourTwo.com, bringing more traffic to thesite.

The app, which has been downloaded morethan 75,000 times, is free and users have to pay between £1.49 and £2.49 forthe stats from the current season’s matches. However stats from previousseasons are free.

FourFourTwo brand director Hugh Sleight said commercial opportunities were already arising and he expected a significantsponsorship deal to be concluded soon that would see the Stats Zone app releasedon Android smartphones and iPad ahead of Euro 2012.
