Monty Don, who recently stood down as main presenter of BBC TV’s Gardeners’ World to recover from an illness, is set to make an appearance at Gardeners’ World Live this weekend.

He will present sessions at the show’s Gardeners’ World magazine Celebrity Theatre on June 14 and 15. The Theatre also features demonstrations by former Gardeners’ World host Alan Titchmarsh and current presenters Joe Swift and Carol Klein.

The Gardeners’ World Live exhibition opened on June 11 as part of the BBC Summer Festival at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

Displays by top UK garden designers at the show include a re-creation from film of the setting of the Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and a rococo potting shed that houses a luxurious indoor garden.

And, alongside annual gardening drawcards such as the Royal Horticultural Society Floral Marquee, the BBC Summer Festival incorporates a Sustainable Future Feature and Green Clinic for the first time.

Tickets for the BBC Summer Festival incorporate admission to Gardeners’ World Live, BBC Good Food Show Summer, Beers of the World Live and the Countryfile and Good Homes magazines areas.

Over Fathers’ Day weekend, adults with full-fare tickets can bring along two children free. To entertain children over the weekend, the show’s Gardeners’ Green will host live music, face painting, magicians and Sunday rugby coaching sessions from top League players.

The BBC Summer Festival is run by Haymarket Exhibitions in partnership with the BBC.
