Regeneration & Renewal makes news over mayoral manoeuvres

Alan Sugar: apprentice to mayor?
Regeneration & Renewal magazine is featured in a front page splash on today’s Evening Standard newspaper over speculation about the Labour party’s next candidate for Mayor of London.
The Haymarket magazine is credited in the Evening Standard story, which uncovers a Labour Party plan to persuade entrepreneur and TV personality Sir Alan Sugar to run for London Mayor in 2012.
Evening Standard journalist Andrew Gilligan quotes Regeneration & Renewal’s interview with Labour’s former local government minister Nick Raynsford, who met the magazine’s deputy editor Ben Walker earlier this month.
Gilligan uses the quotes from Raynsford – a senior and respected voice in the Labour Party – as evidence of a movement within the party to stop former Labour mayor Ken Livingstone standing again.
