Singapore firm launches What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision
A Singapore-based publisher has launched an edition of What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision magazine in Singapore, which will also be distributed in Malaysia and Brunei.
WHF Asia Pte Ltd is publishing the home entertainment title under licence from Haymarket Media Group.
The 116-page launch issue of What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision ASEAN
was on newsstands in Singapore from August 1 with a cover price of 12
Singapore dollars (about £5, or just over 8 US dollars). WHF Asia began
with a print run of 10,000, but the company plans to add readers in
Malaysia and Brunei to its circulation in coming months.
Edward Marr, Haymarket’s licensing manager in Asia, said that he was
confident the title would find loyal readers in the region, where there
is a solid and growing demand for high-end home entertainment
equipment.
“What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision is already the world’s
number one home entertainment magazine with more than one million
readers globally,” said Clare Newsome, the title’s brand director at
its UK headquarters. “This launch, as with any new edition, is exciting
for us because a whole new group of readers will find out why What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision
is the most trusted and recognised buyers guide for consumer
electronics – we keep pace with the industry and our readers’
interests, but we’re also fearless when it comes to challenging
accepted wisdom.”
Haymarket publishes What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision in the UK and India. Editions are also published under licence in France, Indonesia, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, Spain and Thailand.
