West Coast Labs certifies Virgin Media’s PC Guard
Virgin Media’s ‘PC Guard’ service for broadband users has achieved the Checkmark Certification from Haymarket’s West Coast Labs.
The Virgin product, which comprises a range of internet security tools, was originally tested at West Coast Labs’ test site in Cardiff, Wales. The certification recognises its ability to detect malicious software, or ‘malware’.
Future testing will be undertaken at West Coast Labs’ facility in Delhi, India, which continues to expand with the appointment of another test engineer – Sonal Godika – in early October.
The certification of Virgin’s consumer product was confirmed as another leading international consumer brand, Netgear, completes its ‘Unified Threat Management’ certification testing by West Coast Labs for malware, firewall, VPN (virtual private network), spam, URL filtering and intrusion prevention.
West Coast Labs is one of the world’s leading independent test facilities for information security products and services.
