Stuff and Practical Motorhome show strong ABC gains
Haymarket’s Stuff and Practical Motorhome magazines have turned in outstanding performances in their sectors, according to the latest audited consumer circulation figures released by the ABC.
In the men’s lifestyle sector, gadget title Stuff made the greatest gain over six months, rising by 13.2 per cent to 95,695 copies. In a sector in which overall circulation fell by 4.4 per cent year on year, Stuff was up 0.7 per cent on 2008.
Read more about how men’s lifestyle titles fared from the Guardian and mediaweek.co.uk’s John Reynolds – who pointed out that Natmag’s Esquire also fared well while established titles including IPC’s Nuts and Loaded suffered big falls.
Meanwhile, in the thriving caravanning sector, Practical Motorhome’s 4.8 per cent rise year on year gave it the biggest circulation gain in its market. This follows the magazine’s September issue relaunch, which became the title’s best selling issue to date.
FourFourTwo also fared best among adult football titles, with a period-on-period jump of 9.7 per cent. Against an overall sector decline of 5.5 per cent year on year, FourFourTwo was down only 2.2 per cent on 2008. It remains the number one title by circulation in its sector with a circulation of 103,216 copies.
