COMPASS is a search service which allows planners and developers to search and download more than 135,000 planning appeal decisions.

The company's planning appeals service, based in Gloucester, draws on a database established in 1982 which covers 82,000 appeal decisions from the courts of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Experts provide information by researching precedents in England, Scotland and Wales. From this information, interested parties can recommend solutions that are less likely to be overturned on appeal.

The service is available on a consultancy basis by phone and will soon be available online.

The Planning Appeals Tracker is a weekly alert service that allows subscribers to stay up to date with appeals cases in their field.

Development Control Practice is a five-volume essential guide for local authorities, developers and planning consultants.

It offers a unique combination of legislation, policy statements, appeal decisions and best practice, with expert analysis of how this is applied in a working environment.

The guide comprises more than 1600 pages of development control information, covering England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with quarterly updates.
