The Energy and Environment marketing team is responsible for supporting the subscription, content, conference and revenue targets agreed annually for UK published products. 

The teams’ core accountabilities are to:
• Manage and optimise customer engagement
• Optimise use of data, direct and digital marketing initiatives, social media and analysis to improve engagement and retention
• Maximize profit by cross selling and up-selling content through single or continuity sales
• Drive delegate and sponsorship revenues for the E&E group 
   
The primary focus of the Marketing Executive is to implement direct and digital marketing activity to support lead generation and audience development for subscriptions and delegate and sponsorship revenue for conferences, as agreed with the Head of Marketing. 

Operational 
• Implementation of multi-channel marketing campaigns as agreed with the Head of Marketing, assessing the results and providing feedback across subscriptions and conferences to meet revenue and KPI targets 
• Assist in the understanding of user behaviour to evaluate and improve effectiveness of marketing activity and ensure the best methods are being used across the group 
• Develop close working relationships with other members of the brand team – publishers, editors, sales managers and conference producers to ensure overall brand objectives and financial targets are met and that information requirements are fulfilled with appropriate and timely intelligence 
• Liaising with all the data operations team to ensure that the appropriate levels of data are collected and managed professionally, cost-effectively, legally, and in line with relevant formats and standards 
• To brief and work with external designers to create stand-out marketing collateral 
• Maintain marketing promotional budgets, ensuring that they are spent as effectively as possible 
• To create and manage media partnerships with key associations, publications and trade bodies for our conferences 
• Produce timely and accurate detailed response analysis reports on an event by event basis 
• To work with event speakers and sponsors to gain their buy in to promote our events 
• To manage relationships with designers, printers, mailing houses, list brokers and other suppliers, and ensure they are invoiced and paid on time 
• Attend regular meetings with conference/publishing teams to update them on marketing plans and results 

Strategic 
• Monitor competitor activity and relevant industry news for titles and events in the E&E portfolio 
• Gain an understanding of the broader objectives and strategies of the department and how they may contribute to them 
• Understand the user and subscription lifecycle and therefore how fulfilment operates, and how the events are set up and managed 
• Apply all brand learning gained from campaign and audience analysis across subscriptions and conference marketing 
 
Core Competencies & Skills Required for role:
• Knowledge & Experience in digital and direct marketing – ideally in events/conferences or subscriptions 
• Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel 
• Good eye for creative and what works in both direct response and digital environments 
• Good copywriting skills 
• Ideally knowledge of Google Adwords and Google Analytics 
• Experience of maintaining/managing promotional budgets 
• Excellent at meeting deadlines and targets
