Haymarket sells its stake in Frontline Group
But continues to be a key partner under a new, long term agreement
London, 25 October 2021: As one of the original founding partners of The Frontline Group (TFG), Haymarket today announces its exit as a shareholder, but will continue to be a customer under a new long-term distribution agreement.
Back in 1986, Haymarket Media Group entered into a joint venture with Bauer (formerly Emap) bringing in an array of sport, music and retail brands, as well as consumer buying guides to the business. TFG quickly gained recognition within the industry and went on to become the largest magazine sales, marketing and distribution company in the UK.
Kevin Costello, Chief Executive at Haymarket, and Brian Freeman, Chief Financial officer at Haymarket, have both served on the Frontline Board for many years.
Speaking about the decision, Kevin said: “Stepping back as a shareholder of The Frontline Group was a natural step for Haymarket given the reduction in our Consumer Magazine portfolio. Operationally, it will be business as usual. We will still distribute our Automotive portfolio through the Group and I look forward to continuing our work with the brilliant team there under this new agreement.”
Haymarket is immensely proud of everything that’s been accomplished during its time as a shareholder of TFG. It is now jointly owned by Bauer Media and Burda Media.
