Claire Warren named PPA Business Editor of the Year

On Tuesday 30 June, Haymarket’s Claire Warren – editor of Work. magazine was crowned the PPA’s Business Editor of the Year at the 2020 Professional Publishing Association (PPA) Awards.

Over 1000 people from over 250 companies live-streamed the virtual awards ceremony – a record-breaking number for the award show’s 40th anniversary.

The judges said they were “extremely impressed by Claire’s editorial initiatives, in particular the successful launch of Work Magazine. The distinctive covers, breadth of features, vibrant adventurous designs and bold commercialism really set her apart in this fiercely competitive category.”

On winning the award, Claire Warren said: “I’m delighted to be recognised by the PPA but I definitely can’t take all the credit. The wonderful teams on both Work. and Management Today are the people who made this win possible.”

Claire shares the title of ‘PPA Editor of the Year’ with Vogue’s Edward Enninful OBE, who won the Consumer Editor of the Year award.

Robert Jeffery, editor in chief of the Professional Associations Group at Haymarket Business Media, said: “Claire’s win is all the more notable because Work is a relatively small title punching above its weight in the company of some very well-known names. It is testament to her strategic vision for the magazine, the dedicated team that puts it together and the power of an intelligent, journalistically led print product to cut through the noise.”

Work is published four times a year on behalf of the CIPD, and offers long-form journalism, thought leadership and digested research to an audience of business leaders and senior HR professionals.
