What Car? New Car Buying to celebrate first birthday touring Britain to raise cash for Ben charity

What Car? is celebrating a year of success for its relaunched website and New Car Buying platform by partnering with UK automotive industry charity, Ben, on a UK tour of retailers and manufacturers.

The What Car? team has pledged to visit 365 franchised retailers and manufacturers to raise funds for Ben, which provides support for life for people who work, or have worked, in the automotive industry.

For every site visited, What Car? will donate £10 to the charity, with the goal of visiting 365 in order to match every day the website has been operating and raise a minimum of £3650.

Following significant investment in its digital infrastructure, What Car?’s website and its New Car Buying e-commerce platform were fully redesigned last year with a focus on new car buying. The all-new redesign has helped What Car? attract more than 1.7 million unique users every month and over 13 million monthly page impressions.

Rachael Prasher, Managing Director of What Car?, said: “We’ve had a very busy year since the re-launch of our website, building awareness that we both review and recommend cars, and help our readers buy them through our network of signed-up franchised dealers.

“We’ve enjoyed exponential growth for our New Car Buying platform and our position in the market as the most trusted consumer brand has grown as a consequence, as more and more visitors to the site discover they can review cars at whatcar.com and then buy them from trusted dealers at great prices.

“We wanted to celebrate that success, and I can think of no better way of doing that than by supporting Ben through our UK tour. The work the charity does is incredible, and we expect to be able to raise significant funds for this worthy cause.”

Matt Wigginton, Business Development Director at Ben, said: We would like to thank the What Car? team for their generous support. Our work supporting automotive people is entirely funded by the industry, so fundraising initiatives like this are vital for us to continue.

“The life-changing support we provide to those going through life’s toughest challenges depends on our industry. We look forward to following the What Car? journey and hearing all about it! Thank you to everyone taking part and to those who are supporting it.”

The tour of Britain will be undertaken by What Car?’s team from September 16.
